The Theater festival

For some years now the ‘Amici del Castrum’ cultural association has made the castle a key venue in the Veneto region’s cultural map: in the summer months it organizes the Festival of Serravalle - Theater at the Castle inside the garden. Since its beginning in July 2002, this cultural association has aimed at highlighting and making the Castle of Serravalle – and in a broader sense the town of Serravalle – widely known and recognized as one of the most outstanding architectural gems of the province of Treviso.

In recent years theatre attendance has increased, and thanks to a carefully selected and varied theatrical events calendar, Vittorio Veneto has regained the role it held in the past,  that of being one of the Veneto region’s most important cities on the Italian theatre tour map.

The Festival of Serravalle has been – and still is – instrumental in the revival of the theatre culture at Vittorio Veneto. Under the artistic direction of Luisa Baldi, the theatre calendar is increasingly enhanced every year with important names, remarkable performances, and original themes. The programmes, often extremely innovative and in countertendency, are aimed at proposing highly varied events in order to respond to the needs of a very diversified public.

Some of the Italian theatre’s most famous actors and actresses have taken part in the Festival of Serravalle, including Giorgio Albertazzi, Gabriele Lavia, Monica Guerritore, Elisabetta Pozzi, Carlo Simoni and Antonio Salines. And all these celebrities have been guests at the castle.

And lastly we must remember the annual Castello di Serravalle theatre awards event.

Vip guests

In recent years, some of the most important personalities of the Italian theatre and the field of culture have been guests at the Castle of Serravalle and its bed and breakfast.
Maria Luisa Spaziani, Gaia Aprea, Giorgio Albertazzi, Arnoldo Foà, Gabriele Lavia, Monica Guerritore and Antonio Salines, not only performed in the summer festival held in the Castle, but they also stayed at the bed and breakfast and were thus able to enjoy the beautiful setting and serenity of this enchanting place.
Other VIP guests who have had the privilege of staying at the b&b Castle of Serravalle are Carlo Simoni, Elisabetta Pozzi, Laura Curino, Amanda Sandrelli, Max Malatesta and Lucia Schierano.
